Designed and built over 25 years ago, this family home was created with the absolute intent to withstand passing future trends. Using the aesthetic strength of irregular angles and lines for the exterior, contrasting the skeletal structure of the stark white interior, this oasis in the middle of a bustling city boasts space and stillness that will continue to hold its place for time to come.

Staying true to the rough and raw beauty of the Central Otago region, we have used locally sourced timber and Otago schist to construct a village of interconnected geometric spaces. Sitting amongst the spectacular beauty of the Southern Alps this design endeavours never to compete with, but to sit in harmony with the surrounding landscape.

When refitting this original run down coastal home, our first priority was to stick to the true ethos of the kiwi Bach. Low key, low maintenance and welcoming. Inside the black plywood box is a space filled with playfully coloured cabinetry, original wooden flooring, eclectic art and old school furniture all culminating to create a refreshed and quintessential holiday home.
